What to plant in July

Well the great chill is here (finally) and while it looks like a mild winter a few minus twos will probably finish off any resilient summer crops you were hesitant to rip out earlier. If you have fresh new gaps in your veggie patch you can still plant these now…

Planting in July

  • Broad Beans (seed)
  • Peas (seed)
  • Lettuce
  • Salad greens
  • Spinach
  • Asian greens
  • Broccoli (advanced seedlings)
  • Cabbage
  • Turnip
  • Onion (sets)
  • Radish (seed)
  • Globe artichoke
  • Rhubarb (crowns)

You still have plenty of time to plant most fruit trees and berries and Winter is a great time to plan out your Spring planting. Keep an eye out for our checklist coming soon.
